Some suggested setting changes i have made to my tait 9300 radio

Note: when i refer to global and Conf i an refering to the 3 tabs at the top of the left panel GLOBAL is the one that looks like a globe and CONF FUNC is the one with a modem and a radio

radio beeps with a satellite fix lost error

Global/UI Preferences/Audible Indicators/satelite Fix Lost: Disabled

• Will Stop the beeping everytime you go inside

Add notifications when you can start talking

in DMR there is a period at the begining that it will negotiate the connection. You cannot talk during this period but its length can be instantaneous or can take a few seconds. Anything you say during this period will not be transmitted. So i find it helpful if it play a tone when you can talk the default is 3 quick tone

Add notifications when you have stopped tx

you can be dropped from talkgroups by the talkgroup settings, by the Radio, Conditions etc so its good to know when it happens, even though you have the ptt press you are not able to talk.

stop accidental PTT on ht

when you rotate the dial to the keypad lock position this will also lock the ptt key

set a maximum talk duration for DMR\

• Conv Feat/Networks/Basic Setings/TX Duration Timing/Tx Timer Duration: # in seconds

allow editing of the scan groups on the mobile

Conv Feat/Channel Setup/Scan Groups/Common Options/Enable user editing:Tick

Extended Captured TX Channel in scan groups

When you hear a CQ/QSO on a scan group if you are quick enough you can press the ptt to reply on that channel

ConvFeat /Channel Setup/Scan Groups/Scan select each scan group from the drop down at the bottom and set Conv Feat/Channel Setup/Scan Groups/Scan/Channel to respond on:Captured

now you can extend this feature and during the second phase the scan for a new signal starts to run again

to enable on the same page Conv Feat/Channel Setup/Scan Groups/Scan/Initiate call channel:Last Heard

in Conv Feat/Conventional UI

there are a few ui elements you can change

• show channel/group number - will show the channel number and the name on the same line i found this confusing because it truncated things alot
• Show rssi - icon will show signal strength
• also at the bottom there are some selections that will select the first channel when you turn on the radio

  Time and Date this looks like something youd want to turn on but dont turn anything on that uses time and date, at least on mine it wanted me to set the time anytime i was inside and turned it on
